'the Creatures in my Head' project turns 6 today. Crazy, eh?

I was digging around my old computer for a file when I came across this pic of my desk at Nickelodeon from about 6 years ago. This, my friends, is the birthplace of the Creatures in my Head!

I started drawing them in 2002 every time that stupid mac in the picture would crash (often). Then I started putting them on my cube walls. Then I started drawing them at home and putting them online...

6 years later and drawing creatures is somehow now my "job"! Oh magical days!

Well, I never quite attained my childhood dream of being a pro skateboarder with his own model... being a pro artist with his own model is close enough and far less painful.

I hadn't grip-taped a deck in 4 or 5 years, I did a pretty good job of it though. Here it is all ready to go, time to mess it up a bit!

Not to worry, i have an extra for the wall..

Summer means Cyclone! Nathans Hot Dogs! Barfing! Nothing beats getting tossed around a rusty bucket at 50mph on a track that is held together primarily by spray paint, old gum and seagull droppings.

Just a quick update on what I've been up to lately and what's coming up!

I'll be at MoCCA's Artsfest again this year with my Dumb Pals, We'll also be at San Diego International Comic Con as usual, I believe we are at booth #1337 (for real, n3rds), and right after that I'll be in LA for a joint art show with someone you know and love.. more details on that one shortly.

P.S. I just finished drawing a guest strip for goats.com which will probably be live sometime this week. i totally cheated and it still took me all day. I don't know how Jon does it every dang day!

Thanks to every single person who has visited the site, shared it with friends, and especially to those who have supported me directly through t-shirt, book and toy and art purchases at the shop and at my shows! I (quite literally) could not do it without you!

The ZLIKS are coming! Finally! I got the good word that the boat has landed and that they will be offloaded and through customs by tomorrow! Wow, two years of work almost over.. what a ride it's been.

There will be a ZLIKS promotional site going up tomorrow on dyzplastic, and I will start pre-selling a limited quantity of 6 variants on shop.deadzebra.com tomorrow to a select few.. The bad news is that I won't be able to ship them until mid-August when I return from a wedding in Europe.

If you are coming to comic-con I should have a few sets to sell there!
