the Giver - Update
Hello everyone! Been busy finishing up (er.. starting ;) some custom toys for the Kidrobot NYC store reopening this Thursday and 'Down the Bunny Hole' at Rivet in a week.. Photos of those next week!

In the meantime I wanted to drop a quick Giver toy update! I had hoped to be shipping .. well.. months ago, but realistically about a week ago. However, being anal, I decided I was unhappy with one bit so I ended up delaying things for some paint tweaks. The good news is that we are almost done and ready to go! Here are a few recent photos from the factory just because those sort of things are fun...

KANIZAs out
kaniza

kaniza

So, these little guys are finally out! They are currently available at ToyQube as a blind box (you don't know which one you're getting), and will be at other toy retailers in coming weeks. A few online shops like myplasticheart will likely sell open boxes so you know exactly what you get, but where's the fun in that?

I only got a few samples for myself, most of which I am saving for shows and cons and whatnot.

Look but don't touch.
Hey looks like my work has made its way into a museum! A proper one too, not the "museum" that the one guy down the street was running out of his truck.

let me out!

The show, entitled "Beyond Ultraman", focuses on the vinyl art toy movement and is showing at the Pasadena Museum of California Art through January 6th. Good old Groob is in attendance, slowly suffocating to death in a display case. He was the subject of a photo portrait by Brian McCarty, which is also part of the show (and the reason Groob is in there in the first place!) Check it out if you are in the area. Picture borrowed from Vinyl Pulse, which has more coverage of the show.

Vinyl Addiction
Today I had a dream during the course of which I tried, got addicted to, and vowed to quit heroin. I'm glad I got that out of the way.

Speaking of addictions, if there are any DJs slash Toy Collectors out there I have something for you..

trexi 1200

I'm trying to clean up the studio a bit when I remembered I had these guys hiding in the corner. They are a pair of custom 10" Trexis that I did for the show over at Toyqube last year. I think they were something like $900, but I'd rather they go to a good home than gather dust over here so they can be had for $500.

This includes both Trexi figures, a mixer (it should work, it was new when I got it for this!), two small battery operated turntables that fit in the head (might need new batteries), and two dead zebra inc labeled records (just secondhand records I put labels on). These are all actually painted, only stickers are on the records. Oh and you can put anything you want on the turntables, they are just spinning platforms.

Anyway thats the deal! $500, Shipping is $10 in the US and probably closer to $20-30 for international. PayPal por favor. Call dibs here and then get in touch via email.
